Time-limited free parking
In downtown Åndalsnes, you can park for free for a limited time of 1-2 hours. This applies to on-street parking and parking lots at Vøra and behind town hall.

Parking spaces are marked with a white 'P' on a blue sign, with additional signs indicating the time and parking disc with maximum time (see picture to the right).  
 

To park in these spots, you need to mark the time of arrival on your own parking disc, parking app, or by writing a note on the windshield.  

Fee-based parking
Rauma Municipality offers centrally located parking spaces for those who need to park longer than the maximum time for on-street parking. The parking spaces are located in Isfjordsvegen, Strandgata, Kongensgate, Storgata, and Kamsvegen.

If you don't have a special permit, you must pay for parking. This can be done through a parking meter on-site or by using the EasyPark or Smartpark apps.

Pay Using an App
The easiest way to pay for parking is by using an app – either "Smartpark" or "Easypark." Smartpark is free to use, while EasyPark charges an additional 17% on top of the parking fee.

How to Use the App
In the app, enter your car's registration number and payment card, and select "start parking." When parking starts, make sure to choose the correct car if you have multiple cars saved in the app, and choose the correct rate code. The correct rate code can be found on all meters or in the app's map. You'll find information about the price, maximum parking time, and fee time for each rate group by tapping the information icon in the app or within the different zones on the map. You can either select running time or specify a time. You can stop the parking at any time or extend it, but not beyond the maximum parking time for the rate area.
Note: If you've used the wrong rate code, you must stop the payment and start a new parking session with the correct code.
 

Parking Receipt
Once you have paid with the app, the payment is electronically registered to the car's license plate number. You don't need any additional parking receipt.
 

Stop Parking in the App When You're Done
When you're done parking, select "Stop Parking" in the app, and the fee will be calculated up to that point. The calculation will only be for the time you have actually parked. The payment card will be charged automatically. Receipts can be retrieved directly from the app under "History" in the left-hand menu and can also be sent to you via email.
 

Other Payment Methods
You can also pay with a debit or credit card at the parking meters. The meters accept regular Visa and Mastercard. Insert the card or tap, then enter the car's registration number. Select parking time and tap the card again. You don't need to place a receipt/ticket on the windshield, as the machine registers your parking digitally.

Rauma Municipality is responsible for enforcing parking regulations within the municipality's borders.
 

As a driver, you are obliged to know and follow parking regulations. There is also a strict duty of care, so you should be aware of the signs set up in the parking areas.
•    Always check and follow the signs relevant to the specific parking area, and also check for any re-regulation, change, or obscuring of signs before parking your car.
•    Pay special attention to what the signs indicate, as well as what the traffic rules say. Do not park in a manner that creates obstacles or disturbances for other pedestrians or drivers.
•    Also be alert for new signs. In connection with roadwork, events, and the like, there may be temporary changes in parking regulations. If such temporary signage is set up, it will apply immediately or after 24 hours for already parked vehicles, in accordance with traffic law.
•    Remember not to exceed the indicated maximum times and to park according to current regulations. Note that signs are valid in the direction of travel from the point where you have passed the sign.
•    When using the Smartpark/Easypark parking app, make sure you pay for the correct car and choose the correct zone and rate.
